One of the biggest issues that can occur with built in refrigeration appliances is that heat begins to build up inside.
This problem is usually caused by poor, or no ventilation. When this occurs, the appliance can no longer draw in cold air, which is an incredibly important factor for a refrigeration unit to function properly. This can easily lead to a break down, leaving you in a sticky situation!
In some cases, manufacturers can give conflicting installation instructions for ventilation. Read on for a guide on how to properly ventilate your built-in fridge freezer.
For full height appliances there should be a 200cm² slot in the plinth and the top of the built-in housing, along with a hole beneath the appliance. This will provide adequate ventilation for any built-in refrigeration appliance.
For under counter fridge or freezer appliances, simply having a slot in the plinth will successfully allow proper airflow through the machine.
In the absence of manufacturer’s instructions, the information provided above can be used as a guideline to avoid any problems arising and keep your refrigeration device functioning correctly.
If you are experiencing any issues with your fridge freezer, then book a repair, so our friendly team can have your machine working again in no time!
